Business advisory

Advice on how your business is structured and financed, and on the numbers behind a purchase or a major project.

What we handle

  • Company structures

Setting up companies and trusts, and restructuring when a business grows or takes on partners.

  • Buying or selling a business

The financial records and tax position of the business reviewed, and the tax effect of the deal worked out before you sign.

  • Project and cash-flow planning

Budgets and cash-flow forecasts for the year or for a single project, so pressure points show up early.

  • Finance-ready accounts

The accounts and forecasts a lender asks for, prepared with your broker.

  • Credit and cost control

Systems for collecting what you're owed and tracking costs against budget.

  • Business disputes

The accounting side of disputes between business partners or with contractors, worked through with your lawyer.

  • Financial difficulty

An honest look at the position, the ATO side dealt with, and a registered liquidator or insolvency practitioner brought in if formal advice is needed.

Licensed work: some of this needs a licence Unique Accountants doesn't hold. Credit assistance and insurance come through licensed brokers, and formal insolvency appointments through registered liquidators and trustees. Legal advice comes from your lawyer. John works alongside them and keeps the work coordinated.

Common questions

Can you help me buy a business?

Yes. John reviews the financial records and tax position of the business you're buying, explains what the numbers show and works with your lawyer on the contract.

Can you help me get finance?

John prepares the accounts and forecasts a lender asks for and works with your broker on the application. Credit advice itself comes from a licensed finance broker.

What if my business is in financial trouble?

Call early. John looks at the position with you and deals with the ATO where tax is owed. If formal insolvency advice is needed, he brings in a registered liquidator or insolvency practitioner he works with.
